Brew Recipe
☕ 25g Walker Afternoon Blend
💧 250ml water
🌡️ Water temperature: 92–96°C
⏱️ Total brew time: Around 4 minutes 30 seconds
Step 1: Rinse the Filter
Place the filter paper in your dripper and rinse it with hot water. This removes any paper taste and preheats your brewer and server. Discard the rinse water before brewing.
Step 2: Grind the Coffee
Grind 25g of Walker Afternoon Blend to a medium grind, similar to coarse sand. Freshly ground coffee helps preserve the aroma and flavour of the beans.
Step 3: Bloom the Coffee
Add the grounds to the dripper and gently pour around 50ml of water over them. Ensure all the grounds are saturated and let the coffee bloom for 30–45 seconds.
This allows carbon dioxide trapped during roasting to escape, promoting a more even extraction.
Step 4: Continue Pouring
Slowly pour the remaining water in circles, keeping the water level consistent. Aim to reach 250ml by around the 2½–3 minute mark and allow the coffee to finish dripping naturally.
Your total brew time should be approximately 4 minutes and 30 seconds.
