How to Make Cold Brew with Archipelago Beans

Cold brew is one of the easiest ways to enjoy a smooth, refreshing cup of coffee at home. With our Archipelago beans, you get a rich and bold brew that works beautifully on its own or with milk for a creamier finish. Whether you like your coffee black or white, this cold brew recipe is a simple one to keep on repeat.

What You Need 🛒

  • 100g Archipelago beans
  • 800ml to 1L cold filtered water
  • Grinder
  • Large jar or pitcher
  • Spoon
  • Fine mesh strainer, cheesecloth, or coffee filter

Grind the Beans 🌏☕

Grind your Archipelago beans to a coarse grind. The texture should be similar to raw sugar or coarse sea salt.

A coarse grind works best for cold brew because it gives you a smoother extraction and makes the coffee easier to strain later.

Combine Coffee and Water 💧

Add the ground coffee into a jar or pitcher. Pour in the cold filtered water and stir gently to make sure all the coffee grounds are fully soaked.

A good starting ratio is:

  • 100g coffee to 1L water for a smooth, easy-drinking brew
  • Use a little less water if you want it stronger

Steep Overnight ⏰

Cover the jar or pitcher and let it steep in the fridge for 12 to 18 hours.

The longer it steeps, the bolder the flavour becomes. If you prefer a smoother and lighter cup, stay closer to 12 hours. If you like it richer and stronger, go closer to 18 hours.

Strain the Cold Brew 🧊

Once steeping is done, strain the coffee to remove the grounds.

You can use:

  • a fine mesh strainer
  • cheesecloth
  • a coffee filter

If needed, strain it twice for a cleaner and smoother finish.

Serve It Your Way 🖤🤍

Your cold brew is now ready to enjoy.

For black cold brew:

  • pour over ice and serve as is

For white cold brew:

  • pour over ice
  • add milk to taste

You can also dilute it slightly with water if you prefer a lighter cup.

Why Archipelago Beans Work So Well ✨

Archipelago beans make a great cold brew because they create a cup that is rich, bold, and full of character without tasting harsh. The result is a smooth black cold brew that is refreshing on its own, and a creamy white cold brew that still keeps its coffee flavour.

That makes it perfect if you want one brew that works for both styles.

Simple Cold Brew Tips 🙌

  • Use filtered water for a cleaner taste
  • Always go for a coarse grind
  • Strain twice if you want a smoother texture
  • Store your cold brew in the fridge
  • Best enjoyed within 3 to 5 days
