Ingredients

  • 250g prawns, cleaned and deveined
  • 1 cup petai (stink beans)
  • 2–3 tablespoons Nusantara Kitchen Sambal Belacan
  • 3 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: sliced red chilli for extra heat

Method

1. Prepare the prawns

Season the prawns lightly with salt and pepper.

2. Sauté the aromatics

Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the garlic and onions, then sauté until fragrant and slightly softened.

3. Cook the prawns

Add the prawns into the pan and cook for about 2–3 minutes until they begin turning pink.

4. Add the sambal and petai

Stir in the Nusantara Kitchen Sambal Belacan and mix well so the prawns are evenly coated. Add the petai and continue cooking for another 2–3 minutes.

5. Serve hot

Once everything is well combined and fragrant, remove from heat and serve immediately with hot rice.
